Payton Clark, Apprentice 4 of Henkels & McCoy, Inc., Receives Life Sustaining Award for Saving Man’s Life

October 17, 2019

BLUE BELL, PA – Payton Clark, apprentice 4 with Henkels & McCoy, Inc. (H&M), received the MEA Energy Association’s (MEA) Life Sustaining Award this month for using CPR to save a man’s life. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 702 also recognized Mr. Clark’s heroic actions in July by presenting him with the IBEW Life Savings Award/Recognition Award. While working in Illinois on a project near a farm, Mr. Clark and a fellow H&M apprentice observed an elderly driver slumped over the steering wheel of a tractor. When the men discovered the driver did not have a pulse, they called 911 and got the man down from the tractor. Mr. Clark began CPR and continued administering it for several cycles. When the EMTs arrived, the farmer was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Evansville, IN. After he was treated in the hospital, the gentleman fully recovered.

Without a doubt, Payton Clark’s swift actions saved the man’s life. He is most definitely a hero, and H&M is incredibly proud of his actions
